What’s the role?
As the Senior Content Strategist, European Markets, you will lead localized content creation and copywriting for our UK, Germany, and France markets. You'll partner with marketing channel owners, brand strategists, merchandisers, and more to develop engaging and trustworthy campaigns and experiences for our European markets, building Etsy's local credibility while highlighting and celebrating our global community of talented makers and curators.
This is a full-time position reporting to the Senior Manager, Buyer Content Strategy. In addition to salary, you will also be eligible for an equity package, an annual performance bonus, and our competitive benefits that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Etsy.

This role sits on the Brand Copy & Editorial Team. Part of the larger Etsy Brand Content Team, our team inspires action through strategic storytelling. We’re Etsy’s voice, bringing the brand to life throughout priority below-the-line buyer initiatives and product surfaces, and driving engagement with compelling, best-in-class content that is tailored to our key international markets. We introduce buyers to the best of Etsy and our incredible creative community, and give them reasons to come back and shop day after day.
What does the day-to-day look like?
Support the International team in developing our regional marketing moments calendar, and continually identify emerging opportunities to drive cultural relevance in local markets through content.
Evolve the strategy for our market-specific blogs in the UK, Germany, and France, using existing research and data insights and ongoing content performance analysis.
Partner with CRM team to build and implement content plans for localized buyer marketing emails and push notifications (and their landing pages), including writing or editing copy.
Support additional content needs for buyer-facing channels, including Editors’ Picks pages, social content, and SEO content, and partner with channels and copy leads to align programming across onsite and offsite touchpoints.
Facilitate editor reviews of translated content to ensure alignment with Etsy’s style and tone of voice and work with Translation team to improve the quality of localized experiences for our UK, German, and French markets.
Onboard, manage, and edit local freelance writers, ensuring adherence to Etsy’s writing guide and tone of voice, and support sourcing of in-market freelancers for seller programming as needed.
Monitor trends, industry news, and emerging technologies in order to drive future growth.

Qualities that will help you thrive in this role are:
You have a proven track record of developing engaging, impactful content for audiences in Europe, preferably working for brands or agencies.
You’ve planned, written, and edited content for a variety of marketing channels, including blogs, email, and social media.
You have experience building and implementing content strategies for blogs and email.
You’re able to successfully collaborate with partners to drive impact.
You’re familiar with content management systems, analytics platforms, and basic photo editing tools.
You have excellent judgment and can make insightful decisions about copy based on data and research.
You’re organized and focused, but also flexible and open to change.
Knowledge requirements: Fluent in English and German, basic understanding of French.
