Salary Range:
$105,000.00 - $137,000.00What’s the role?
Etsy is looking for a Consumer Communications Manager to support earned media efforts in the US. This role will focus on building brand awareness through compelling consumer narratives, supporting seasonal and evergreen campaigns, and elevating seller stories—keeping Etsy top of mind for shoppers. Working closely with our external PR agency and cross-functional teams, you’ll help ensure that Etsy shows up in a thoughtful, timely, and authentic way across consumer and lifestyle media to drive high-impact press coverage while uncovering new storytelling opportunities.
This is a full-time position reporting to the Director of Consumer Communications. In addition to salary, you will also be eligible for an equity package, an annual performance bonus, and our competitive benefits that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Etsy.
This role requires your presence in Etsy’s Brooklyn Office once or twice per week depending on your proximity to the office. The Consumer Comms team drives global relevance through a steady drumbeat of organic coverage that strengthens Etsy’s positioning as the go-to destination for original, special items from sellers around the world. We play a key role in crafting Etsy’s brand perception and fueling brand love by showcasing what makes our company special, amplifying major initiatives, telling seller stories, and crafting buzz-worthy campaigns that resonate with media and inspire buyers. Partnering with both internal partners and external PR agencies, we execute high-impact storytelling that makes Etsy unmissable in the media.
What does the day-to-day look like?
Support US consumer PR efforts, helping to craft and implement campaigns that drive lifestyle, trend, and cultural coverage for Etsy.
Play a key role in media relations—building and maintaining positive relationships with journalists, identifying pitching opportunities, and partnering with our agency to drive consistent, high-impact coverage.
Plan, lead, and execute consumer press events around key campaigns, enhancing coverage and strengthening our media relationships.
Build and scale our seller storytelling program by identifying compelling seller stories, packaging narratives, and proactively pitching them to media across verticals.
Balance proactive and reactive storytelling, driving strategic campaigns while staying nimble and jumping on culturally-relevant, buzz moments that make sense for the brand.
Work cross-functionally with Marketing, Social, and Brand teams, as well as the broader Consumer Comms team, to amplify campaigns and find new storytelling opportunities.
Share and amplify media coverage internally, keeping key leaders and partners updated with regular reporting on media moments, campaign impact, and press results.
Source and vet sellers and products for localized media outreach.

5+ years of experience in consumer PR/communications

Nimble and scrappy—you’re resourceful, adaptable, and willing to roll up your sleeves to get things done.
