What’s the role?
We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our Checkout squad. Together with other members of our squad, across engineering, product management, design, and analytics, you will contribute to meaningful streams of work that will build a world class experience when making a purchase on Etsy.com.
This is a full-time position reporting to the Engineering Manager, Checkout. In addition to salary, you will also be eligible for an equity package, an annual performance bonus, and our competitive benefits that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Etsy.

What’s this team like at Etsy?
This team is an experiment driven product team, where code changes going out daily, and multiple experiments running on any given week to ensure that we maximize the success of our sellers. The checkout team functions in a highly collaborative environment where engineers work closely with product, design, and analytics to understand the impact of our work, and use the learnings to help shape the improvements we ship to our users.
What does the day-to-day look like?
Collaborate with engineers on the team, product manager, and designer to help define product requirements
Continuously learn from your teammates and share your own insights with them.
Regularly push code to production using our continuous deployment systems.
Run and iterate on experiments to learn the impact of the changes you work on
Participate in code and design reviews to ensure high code quality.

Qualities that will help you thrive in this role are:
3+ years of professional software development experience, ideally in a product-minded environment.
You care as much about building great products as you do writing great code.
Code quality is critically important to you, and you can help your team and others improve the quality of existing codebases.
Can be autonomous, determined and a fast learner.
Can confidently communicate efficiently and effectively.
