What’s this team like at Etsy?

This team is an experiment driven product team, where code changes going out daily, and multiple experiments running on any given week to ensure that we maximize the success of our sellers. The checkout team functions in a highly collaborative environment where engineers work closely with product, design, and analytics to understand the impact of our work, and use the learnings to help shape the improvements we ship to our users.

What does the day-to-day look like?

  • Collaborate with engineers on the team, product manager, and designer to help define product requirements

  • Continuously learn from your teammates and share your own insights with them.

  • Regularly push code to production using our continuous deployment systems.

  • Run and iterate on experiments to learn the impact of the changes you work on

  • Participate in code and design reviews to ensure high code quality.

  • Of course, this is just a sample of the kinds of work this role will require! You should assume that your role will encompass other tasks, too, and that your job duties and responsibilities may change from time to time at Etsy's discretion, or otherwise applicable with local law.

Qualities that will help you thrive in this role are:

  • Professional software development experience, ideally in a product-minded environment.

  • You care as much about building great products as you do writing great code.
