Salary Range:
$135,000.00 - $175,000.00What's the Role?
We are looking for a product focused full stack software Engineer, to join a multidisciplinary, cross platform product development team where you will work alongside other web full stack as well as native engineers, a product manager, designer, analytics and researchers to bring exciting features to Etsy users. You will have the opportunity to work on the biggest bets for Etsy's business and contribute directly to Etsy's goals and growth.
This is a full-time position reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager. In addition to salary, you will also be eligible for an equity package, an annual performance bonus, and our competitive benefits that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Etsy.
For this role, we are considering candidates based in the United States. Candidates living within commutable distance of Etsy’s Brooklyn Office Hub or in the San Francisco Bay Area may be the first to be considered. For candidates within commutable distance, Etsy requires in-office attendance once or twice per week depending on your proximity to the office. What does the day-to-day look like?
Building and maintaining software written in PHP and React/Typescript
Close attention to detail, with the ability to translate design and product requirements to production-ready code
Collaborate across Product, Design, Analysts, Researchers, and Engineering to build innovative and outstanding offers experience on Etsy.
Build high-quality end to end product features in a fast paced agile environment.
Run A/B experiments to validate product improvements.
Lead and assist in performing product testing including unit, functional, visual, etc.
Confidently communicate technical issues with all vital stakeholders.
In collaboration with your team, craft and improve processes that impact web development across Etsy.

Qualities that will help you thrive in this role are:
An interest in solving user problems and driving business impact through high-quality, maintainable, and readable code
A minimum of 2 years of experience writing and deploying full-stack web software in any of the following languages: PHP, Python, Ruby, Java, Go, and/or JavaScript
Experience collaborating with cross-functional partners (engineers, product managers, product designers, researchers, and analysts)
A sense of self-direction, and ability to learn quickly
A willingness to support your team’s success by helping those around you, and offering ideas and support when needed
Have experience with testing (unit tests, functional tests, visual tests) and accessibility frameworks.
Have a “leave it better than you found it” mentality, and are willing to work with and improve on code you did not originally write.
