The Growth Platform group focuses on building and iterating on the platform, tools, and services that fuel the growth of the marketplace. 

As the Senior Director of Product Management, Growth Platform, you will lead a team that plays a critical role in bridging the gap between Marketing and Product.  You’ll partner closely with teams to develop best in class services aimed at acquiring new customers and deepening our relationship with existing ones.. Responsibilities will include:

  • Modernizing and scaling our CRM system, including email, push and SMS channels, to increase customer frequency and spend;

  • Growing the SEO channel to effectively introduce buyers to the Etsy marketplace;

  • Optimizing performance marketing channels that operate at massive scale ($500M+)

  • Building out cross channel capabilities in order to better target the messages we send to byers


This is a full-time position reporting to the VP of Product and the base salary will be $256,000 - $332,000 per year. In addition to salary, you will also be eligible for an equity package, an annual performance bonus, and our competitive benefits that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Etsy.  

For this role, we are considering candidates based in the United States.

Candidates living within commutable distance of Etsy’s Brooklyn Office Hub or in the San Francisco Bay Area may be the first to be considered. For candidates within commutable distance, Etsy requires in-office attendance once or twice per week depending on your proximity to the office. What’s this team like at Etsy?
 

The Growth Platform team sits at the intersection of Product and Marketing. We dynamically balance near-term customer and business goals with the long-term scalability and sustainability of our platforms. Responsible for the experiences, tools, and platforms that power our paid, email, push, and SEO channels, the team drives billions of dollars in GMS (Gross Merchandise Sales) and impacts millions of buyers.


What does the day-to-day look like?

  • Partner closely with Engineering, Product Design, Data Science, and Marketing to develop, communicate, and gain alignment on a group-level product strategy that drives towards tangible business outcomes.

  • Build, maintain, and prioritize long-term roadmaps, which align to Etsy's Product and Marketing roadmaps.

  • Consistently prioritize opportunities that maximize the impact of our email, push, SEO, and performance marketing channels. 

  • Define and own the product strategy for our Marketing technology stack, including internal products, vendor management, and new feature development.

  • Cultivate a team culture that embraces customer outcome product development, rapid experimentation, and deep and frequent inspection of data. 

  • Define and clearly articulate guidelines, principles, expectations, goals, and success metrics for Product Managers and their teams.

  • Advocate for continuous innovation, constant learning through testing, and taking risks all while preserving the customer experience and protecting business interests.

  • Work closely and collaboratively with leaders across functions to realize the full scale and potential of the product.

  • Recruit incredible talent and retain them by being accountable for the individual inclusion, developmental, and growth needs of each of your team members.

Qualities that will help you thrive in this role are:

  • At least 10+ years of experience leading business and product initiatives in high velocity tech companies with at least 5 years of management and leadership experience.

  • Experience applying a rigorous, highly data-driven approach to increase customer acquisition and retention.

  • Experience growing and optimizing email, push, SEO, and performance marketing channels to achieve positive business outcomes.

  • Experience building and scaling marketing technology stacks that underpin paid and organic marketing channels.

  • Consistent record of successfully delivering meaningful value to the business and customers.

  • Experience collecting and using both qualitative and quantitative data to make decisions. Knows how to balance data with intuition when necessary.

  • An inspirational and clear communication style that embodies our guiding principles of leading with optimism and embracing differences.

  • Having led and developed a team of high functioning, growth minded Product Managers. You’re passionate about team development and growth; aspires to excellence and leads by example.

  • Natural collaborator that understands how to share a vision, tell a story and drive cross-functional alignment and work effectively in a matrixed organization structure. A track record of building positive relationships with people and teams across a broad, diverse organization.
