What’s the role?
We are looking for a Seller Verification Specialist to join our established yet evolving Seller Verification team. You will have the opportunity to contribute directly to Etsy’s verification program by ensuring we meet our compliance obligations while helping sellers through their onboarding and ongoing verification journey. You’ll actively communicate with our sellers and collaborate with internal teams to ensure a smooth and compliant verification experience while maintaining our platform safe for buyers.
This is a full-time position reporting to the Seller Verification Manager. In addition to salary, you will also be eligible for an equity package, an annual performance bonus, and our competitive benefits that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Etsy.
This role requires your presence in Etsy’s Mexico City office once or twice per week depending on your proximity to the office. What’s this team like at Etsy?
Our team conducts seller onboarding (KYC/B), bank verification, and enhanced due diligence processes to help Etsy meet its compliance obligations and promote better outcomes for buyers. We sit within Etsy’s Payment Operations organization where we conduct in-depth investigations, handle time-sensitive communications and collaborate with key partners including Legal, Compliance, Payments and support teams to help keep Etsy a safe and trusted place to shop and sell. All of our work involves consistent Communication with sellers to guide them through their onboarding and ongoing verification experience, while adhering to processes and guidelines.
What does the day-to-day look like?
As a Seller Verification Specialist you are accountable and responsible for consistently meeting individual productivity and quality targets with respect to the seller verification-related workflows that we execute, including KYC/KYB, bank account verification, and enhanced due diligence reviews. In support of that, you will:
Understand and enforce Etsy’s policies regarding seller identity verification, acting as an expert point of contact for complex verification issues.
Stay up-to-date with training, maintaining in-depth knowledge of Etsy’s evolving policies, product offerings, and shifting risk environment.
Apply Etsy’s internal tools as well as vendor tools to review and validate information provided by sellers, raising concerns or questions to the Seller Verification Manager, as appropriate.
Communicate efficiently and accurately with sellers about enforcement actions.
Uphold Seller Verification service levels and performance metrics

Qualities that will help you thrive in this role are:
Fluent in English
Bachelor’s degree preferred
2+ years of experience in KYC/B, fraud investigation, or other e-commerce risk management experience
Experience conducting sophisticated investigations and analysis (CDD, EDD etc.)
Ability to work well both independently and within a team structure
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Comfortable providing and receiving feedback as a regular practice
Willing to work either a Sunday-Thursday or Tuesday-Saturday schedule (one weekend shift per week)
A positive, roll-up-your-sleeves-and-help attitude
A trust in and commitment to Etsy’s vision, mission and values
