What’s the role?
The Seller Services Team is passionate about making Etsy the trusted partner for creative sellers, helping them succeed at any stage of their business. We believe maintaining a deep focus on craft and consistency helps bring our strategy and mission to life. As a Senior Staff Product Designer, you'll own complex problems spanning the entire end-to-end seller experience. You'll work independently to identify, initiate, and deliver new products, leading and influencing across functions and senior leaders.
This is a full-time position reporting to our Product Design Director for Seller Services. In addition to salary, you will also be eligible for an equity package, an annual performance bonus, and our competitive benefits that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Etsy.
For this role, we are considering candidates based in the United States. Candidates living within commutable distance of Etsy’s Brooklyn Office Hub may be the first to be considered. For candidates within commutable distance, Etsy requires in-office attendance once or twice per week depending on your proximity to the office. A group of 7+ designers responsible for how Sellers experience Etsy - from onboarding them to the Marketplace, to helping them make their first sale, to growing and scaling their business.
We elevate the quality of every aspect of the Seller experience, defining core patterns for seller tools and workflows and helping other teams to adopt them.

What does the day-to-day look like?
Identifying and leading new tracks of work to improve the lives of sellers, working with cross-functional partners to define our vision and strategy
Diagnosing and addressing gaps in our visual language across seller products and helping up-level it
Setting the bar for interaction design and solving the most complex Seller interaction problems at Etsy
Building prototypes that clarify product strategy and influence the organization's priorities
Making regular use of your soft skills: listening, negotiating, decision-making
Spending time developing other designers, mentoring and leveling up craft across teams
Playing a key part in onboarding and improving the design team’s culture and engagement

Qualities that will help you thrive in this role are:
10+ years of professional experience working in product design.
Experience building products where the problem space is novel or complex.
Experience crafting native apps (iOS and Android) and familiarity with platform-specific interaction patterns. You can showcase examples of thinking cross-platforms.
Experience setting the standard for design quality and running independently, providing direction to designers within the team.
Excellent visual and interaction design skills, from prototyping to polished execution with an eye for pixel-perfect detail.
You think in systems and can diagnose complex problems and deliver scalable solutions.
Proficiency leading workshops and aligning teams around a vision and approach.
You’re an excellent communicator who can lead teams and influence senior leaders and executives.
A deep understanding of the tech that powers digital products, and how to collaborate with engineering to make the most of emerging capabilities.
The ability to context switch and apply a wide variety of product design skills (e.g., design thinking, design strategy, user problem definition, information architecture, service design).
