What’s the role?
We are looking for a iOS Engineer II to join a multidisciplinary app development team, where you will work alongside native engineers to bring exciting features for our app users. You will have the opportunity to contribute directly to Etsy’s goals and growth alongside mobile engineers and partners.
This is a full-time position reporting to the Engineering Director. In addition to salary, you will also be eligible for an equity package, an annual performance bonus, and our competitive benefits that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Etsy.
For this role, we are considering candidates based in Mexico, however candidates living within commutable distance of the Etsy Mexico office will be the first to be considered. Even if located within commuting distance of an office, you will have the option to work office-based, flex, or remotely.

You will be part of an engineering team within our Product Enablement Group, responsible for creating features to improve the experience of millions of users as they shop for nearly one hundred million listings on the Etsy Marketplace. What does the day-to-day look like?
Build solutions that support our App Engineers ability to ship safely and efficiently to our nearly 100M buyers
Work with Product Engineering, Enablement Engineering, and Design Systems teams to shape what is possible on our platform to surprise, delight, and engage our users.
Assist with technical discovery and communicate findings and recommendations to your team members.
Gather quantitative and qualitative data on App engineers pain points and deliver solutions that improve their developer experience.
Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to code signing, provisioning profiles and build errors.
In collaboration with your team, craft and improve processes that impact iOS app development across Etsy.
Prototype, optimize and deploy new features and technologies to evaluate their feasibility for platform-wide adoption.

Qualities that will help you thrive in this role are:
4-6 years of professional iOS development experience, ideally in a product-minded environment.
Proficiency in Swift, familiarity with SwiftUI, and you understand ObjectiveC enough to be effective when needing to interact with it.
Feel comfortable debugging and troubleshooting complex issues using Xcode and debugging tools.
Experience working with continuous integration, using tools like GitHub actions and Bitrise.
Proficiency with version control tools, branching schemes, and the different rollout strategies.
Familiarity with the App Store submission process, certificates and profiles provisioning, and release management.
Product engineering mindset. The work you’ll do here will enable your stakeholders to understand the efficacy and effectiveness of their work that goes out to millions of users.
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional team members, such as Product Managers, Designers, QA, and product engineers.
Have a “leave it better than you found it” mentality, and are willing to work and improve on code you did not originally write.
You can communicate with your team in a transparent and effective way.
Are comfortable with saying “I don’t know”, doing research, and returning with options complete with trade offs..
