$96,000.00 - $124,000.00What’s the role?
We’re looking for a Retention Marketing Manager to reach our sellers and help deliver the tools and education to help them manage their small businesses. You will build personalized seller experiences through multi-channel campaigns, including the opportunity to use predictive intelligence and robust automation tooling.
You will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive multi-channel strategies to improve seller engagement and drive the adoption of Etsy's tools and services. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Marketing Analytics, Seller Marketing, and Product Marketing, to align initiatives with our strategic product priorities and Etsy’s long-term company strategy. This role requires a strategic problem solver with a strong background in retention and email marketing, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams to drive seller engagement and achieve key business objectives.
This is a full-time position reporting to the Manager, Seller Retention & Engagement Marketing. In addition to salary, you will also be eligible for an equity package, an annual performance bonus, and our competitive benefits that support

This role requires your presence in Etsy’s Brooklyn Office once or twice per week depending on your proximity to the office. What does the day-to-day look like?
Shape the Seller Engagement roadmap: Play a part in the development of a long-term Seller REM roadmap, delivering prioritized projects, experiments, and campaigns that align with Etsy's strategic objectives.
Define & implement multi-channel marketing strategies: Build and implement multi-channel strategies in partnership with Marketing Analytics and Seller Marketing teams. Define target audiences, determine contact frequency, improve customer experience, and establish automation requirements to optimize engagement.
Apply expertise to drive impact: Leverage your deep understanding of email, push, and in-app messaging channels to inform discussions and decisions, ensuring the effective execution of campaigns that meet or exceed goals.
Drive product actions through cross-functional collaboration: Partner with Product Marketing and other teams to increase seller awareness and adoption of tools that drive business growth.
Campaign management: Lead the end-to-end email production process for key initiatives, including drafting briefs, crafting REM technical enablement documentation, segmenting and building audiences, constructing and launching emails, and conducting post-launch analyses.
Analyze & optimize performance for continuous growth: Analyze engagement metrics to identify trends and insights. Share findings regularly with partners and continuously refine campaigns based on past performance and evolving email marketing methodologies.

Over 5 years of demonstrated success in Retention Marketing roles within fast-paced environments, preferably in global e-commerce or marketplace settings.
You have the ability to develop and implement sophisticated multi-channel strategies and experimentation roadmaps with strong technical proficiency in Marketing Automation Platforms and third-party email providers; experience with Braze is preferred.
You are highly organized and meticulous, capable of adapting swiftly to evolving business needs while maintaining a focus on long-term objectives.
You operate with integrity, confidence, and compassion. You are passionate about collaborating with members across the organization. You lead with optimism, empathy, and embrace differences.
You make decisions grounded in data and customer experience. You have experience analyzing campaigns post-launch and maintaining reporting. SQL knowledge and experience with audience building is preferred.
You have a deep understanding of how personalized marketing campaigns and automation drive an extraordinary user experience and influence behavior. Have shown success in crafting campaigns that drive a significant change in how users adopt or use products.
Expert HTML and CSS skills.
You are familiar with CAN-SPAM/CASL/GDPR requirements and inbox deliverability standards.
Familiar with Etsy and are excited to support sellers in building confidence and growing their businesses.
