Salary Range:
$105,000.00 - $137,000.00What’s the role?
The Etsy Internal Audit (IA) team provides assurance to the Board of Directors and Executive Management that Etsy’s businesses are well run and are meeting strategic, operational and risk management goals.
We are looking to grow our team and are seeking a Senior Auditor (non-technology) who will engage with all Etsy teams, including senior leadership, to understand risk across the organization and evaluate the effectiveness of the company’s tools, products and processes. You will collaborate with our Payments, Legal Compliance, Finance, Product, Engineering, Legal, Marketing, International, Marketplace, Strategy & Services, and People & Workplace teams to enhance and strengthen the overall control environment at Etsy.
This is a full-time position reporting to the Internal Audit Manager. In addition to salary, you will also be eligible for an equity package, an annual performance bonus, and our competitive benefits that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Etsy.

What’s this team like at Etsy?
IA provides independent, objective analysis & assessment of Etsy’s overall control environment.
The team is headed by the VP, Internal Audit & Internal Controls.
The IA team currently comprises the Internal Audit Manager on the non-technology audit side, as well as three team members on the technology audit side.
In 2023, IA expanded its coverage into European regulated entity compliance.
What does the day-to-day look like?
Collaborate with Internal Audit Manager to complete Etsy’s annual audit plan.
Build relationships company-wide to identify emerging internal and external risks.
Support annual and continuous risk assessment activities.
Plan, scope and complete compliance, operational, financial and integrated audits; including process reviews.
Prepare clear, high quality audit work papers to document procedures and conclusions, consistent with IIA and internal standards.
Understand complex business and technology flows and controls, and their impact on downstream processes, reporting and metrics.
Design and complete tests of processes & controls, including data analysis.
Identify, evaluate and report control gaps and other improvement opportunities to management; use data to support pragmatic remediation suggestions.
Follow-up on resolution of open audit issues.
Provide ad hoc support and guidance to business groups to support process evolution.
Collaborate within the team to develop audit templates, standards and guidelines.

Qualities that will help you thrive in this role are:
3+ years of progressive audit experience, preferably with public accounting or consulting firms.
Experience auditing regulated entities, including AML and Sanctions Compliance programs is a plus.
Experience in a publicly-traded, e-commerce, fin-tech, or technology company is preferred.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, or equivalent; CPA preferred.
Experience in transaction testing and exception identification.
Familiarity with audit data analytics tools and techniques (e.g., SQL queries, Python).
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, particularly in report writing.
Anticipates questions, independently assesses risk, and thinks critically and creatively.
Highly organized, focused, and flexible, with the ability to handle changing priorities in a dynamic, rapidly growing, and agile organization.
Independent and positive with high energy.
Comfortable working in a small team in a casual yet focused environment, and collaborating across the organization.
