Salary Range:
$111,000.00 - $145,000.00As Senior UX Copywriter, you take the lead in shaping and implementing effective content plans across our buyer and seller experiences, working closely with design, product, research, and analytics to bring our brand to life, drive user engagement and retention, and deliver a delightful customer experience. In addition, you’ll help develop and evolve our UX copy system, creating copy components, patterns, and guidelines that enable teams across Etsy to build on-brand, high-quality, and accessible products consistently.
This is a full-time position reporting to the Senior Manager of UX Content. In addition to salary, you will also be eligible for an equity package, an annual performance bonus, and our competitive benefits that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Etsy.
This role requires your presence in Etsy’s Brooklyn Office once or twice per week depending on your proximity to the office. What’s this team like at Etsy?
The UX Content team works in close collaboration with Product, Engineering, and Marketing teams to shape compelling product experiences for Etsy buyers and sellers. We are a subset of Brand Content at Etsy, the cross-disciplinary writing team that develops content for the entire customer journey and the full marketing funnel.
What does the day-to-day look like?
Plan, write, edit, test, and improve UX copy across a range of product experiences, including onboarding flows, in-product education, featuring naming, navigational elements, and all core components of the user experience.
Infuse our brand voice across touchpoints, aligning product language with our brand positioning and tone of voice guidelines—strategically develop copy that informs, motivates, and delights customers.
Help strategize, implement, and maintain a consistent UX content strategy throughout product experiences, deeply understanding how customers interact with Etsy, using data to inform decisions, and building alignment between UX and marketing content.
Research, plan, and lead the development of our first UX copy system which will support both buyer-facing app work and all product development across Etsy—collaborate closely with designers and engineers on the Design Systems team.
Create and maintain high-quality copy components, patterns, and guidelines that enable product teams to build brand-aligned customer experiences at scale.
Leverage research and metrics to inform and validate content decisions.
Participate in discoveries, design critiques, workshops and core cross-functional meetings, influencing the product development process and building feedback into your content approach.

Qualities that will help you thrive in this role are:
4+ years of experience in UX copywriting. Additional background in creative copywriting, editorial, or marketing is a plus.
Experience working with and contributing to a Design System, scalable copy system, or component library.
Proven experience collaborating successfully with product managers, product designers, product marketing managers, researchers, and data analysts to build exceptional product experiences.
Facility for breaking down complex concepts into clear, accessible language, and leaning into moments of delight when appropriate.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Experience carving out a leadership role on large cross-functional projects.
Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills; experience using data to inform copy decisions.
Proficiency in Figma.
