Etsy is excited to share our enhanced hybrid work model, developed to encourage flexibility, autonomy, and impact.
We recognize that our employees can be high performers wherever they work and so, as we reopen our offices, we will now offer three different work modes to meet the variety of needs and preferences of our team.
Flex mode gives employees the flexibility to work remotely most often, visiting the office at least 4-6 times per month.
Our most flexible and default option, Flex mode comes with great perks like bookable workstations, tasty in-office meals and snacks, access to IT equipment, and a home office stipend to support you when working from home. Flex means 4+ times in office per month for most, but additional visits may be expected depending on team needs. Of course, Flex employees can utilize our office spaces more often if they wish to!
Based on your role and function, you may have the opportunity to work remotely from the US, Canada, Ireland, the UK, Mexico, or India.
You’ll have opportunities to travel to an Etsy office for key moments throughout the year, but the amount of expected travel will depend on your role and team. Our Remote mode also offers great benefits like co-working credits, access to IT equipment, a home office stipend, and virtual health and wellness offerings available to all employees.
Etsy’s offices are amazing, so it’s no surprise that some employees want to experience them 4-5 days a week!
Our Office-based mode caters to those office lovers, while still providing the flexibility to occasionally work from home. You’ll also be able to enjoy daily in-office meals and snacks, a designated desk in the office, and easy access to fun office events.
30 Days Away
On top of our flexible work model, our 30 Days Away offering provides employees with the opportunity to switch things up and work from another location for an extended time. Whether Flex, Remote, or Office-based, all employees can work from a wide selection of different locations for up to 30 consecutive calendar days each year!
Our Vaccination Policy
The health and safety of our teams is our top priority. Below are the health and safety measures being taken in all of our offices.
Employees are required to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination to work in an Etsy office, unless prohibited by local law or regulation.
Any employees who are unable or unwilling to get vaccinated will work within Remote mode.
Although Remote mode typically includes opportunities to travel to Etsy offices for key occasions, in response to an updated mandate in New York City, unvaccinated employees will not be allowed to enter any of our US offices without an approved religious or medical exemption. In such cases, the unvaccinated employees must also wear a mask at all times while in the office, except while eating or drinking.
All employees are required to take COVID-19 tests (showing negative results) prior to their first office visit each business week, but no sooner than Monday morning of that business week. We provide our employees with test kits, and reimbursements of up to $25 per test for those unable to pick up company-distributed kits prior to an office visit.
Our COVID-19 health and safety protocols, including mask wearing and distancing, may adjust over time as the health and safety guidance evolves in each of our locations.
To help us operate safely, we’ll continue to monitor conditions in each of our global locations. If there are new COVID-19 variants of concern or surges that warrant community action, we’ll adjust our policies accordingly.
